Saadia Pekkanen is the Associate Director, the Founding Director of the Ph.D. Program, and the Job and Gertrud Tamaki Professor at the Jackson School, University of Washington. She works on the international relations of Japan and Asia, with a special research interest in outer space governance, security, and policy. She is also a regular contributor to Forbes on these themes. Pekkanen holds a master’s degree in law from Yale Law School and Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University.
